Application Background

Leveraging over two decades of experience in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation testing within the motor drive field, KeLiang has developed a motor emulator capable of testing various motor controllers. This product flexibly emulates motor test benches of different types and power levels, enabling efficient and comprehensive testing of motor controller functionality and performance. It provides a highly efficient, safe, and reliable testing platform for motor controller development and production line testing.

Product Features

n Function Integration: Emulates the four-quadrant operating characteristics of motors; a single device replaces the drive motor, load motor, and load converter (or dynamometer) in traditional motor back-to-back test benches; integrates load characteristic models, such as vehicle load characteristics for new energy vehicles.

n High Versatility: By setting motor types and parameters via the user interface, accurately emulates characteristics of various motor types including brushless DC motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors, and induction motors, covering electrical characteristics, mechanical characteristics, and nonlinear magnetic field characteristics.

n Fault Emulation: Line or motor phase-to-phase short/open circuit faults, sensor faults, mechanical faults.

n Wide Coverage: Supports conventional drivetrain testing as well as testing under specific operating point conditions, such as extreme tests like torque step change and motor locked-rotor; can operate in fixed position, fixed speed, driver control, and other modes.

n Operational Convenience: The motor monitoring software facilitates motor parameter configuration, online parameter tuning, waveform viewing, data logging, waveform playback, and report printing.

n Position/Speed Sensor Emulation: Emulates Hall, resolver, encoder, SPI, LVDT, and other sensor signals.

n Excellent Grid Compatibility: Forms a power circulation loop with the device under test (DUT), resulting in low energy consumption and minimal power drawn from the grid.

n Cost Savings: Emulates different types of motor back-to-back test benches simply by setting different motor parameters, avoiding duplicate investment and floor space usage.

n High Safety: No rotating mechanical parts; user-definable voltage and current protection thresholds that act before the DUT protection, ensuring the safety of the device under test.


Monitoring Software

Monitoring Software – KL6000-Console. Supports configuration of various motor parameters and load characteristic emulation. Enables waveform zoom viewing, data logging, waveform playback, report printing. Allows setting of various fault scenarios including electrical faults, motor body faults, and sensor faults. Supports position feedback formats such as resolver, Hall, optical encoder, and LVDT.
